How it works

ROI = (Final − Initial) / Initial ; Annualised = (Final/Initial)^(1/years) − 1

Worked examples

  • $5,000 → $8,500 total ROI = 70%. Over 5 years, ~11.2% annualised.
  • A 40% total return over 10 years is only ~3.4% per year — context matters.
