How it works
ROI = (Final − Initial) / Initial ; Annualised = (Final/Initial)^(1/years) − 1
- Enter initial and final values.
- Optionally enter years held to get the annualised return.
Worked examples
- $5,000 → $8,500 total ROI = 70%. Over 5 years, ~11.2% annualised.
- A 40% total return over 10 years is only ~3.4% per year — context matters.
Frequently asked questions
Does ROI include fees?
It should. Use net figures (after fees, taxes on realised gains) for a realistic number.
